Current Work

My current work is a study of light as both subject and process. I explore imagination as a faculty of the soul—the capacity to assimilate images and reflections contained within living light. These internal images become the source of the paintings.

The work also reflects the nature of the mind: a movement from multiplicity toward stillness. Beginning in fragmentation and many thoughts, the paintings evolve toward quiet, minimal states of peace. Within this process, I question the relationship between light and darkness—does light reveal the dark, and if so, why does darkness remain unseen? Are forms born from light itself, and can painting allow darkness to become light? Light ultimately becomes the force that reveals, shapes, and gives form.
